Florence for Seven.

March 2006 planning begins.  First, it was four.  InfoMan, me, and our dear friends K & D.  We'll fly into Venice; spend a couple days then off to Florence.  We rented an apartment.  3 bedrooms.  Well, said M: If you have an extra bedroom... why don't I come?  OK.  Months later, other dear friends J & B rent another apartment across town.  Thus, was the vacation planned.  A great time was had by all.  Here are the photos to prove it.

We got our base in the South of France...

It seemed like we had been planning this trip forever!  I had the countdown on my iPhone and checked daily:  157 days; 83 days; 54 days; then all of a sudden: 3 days! 2 Days! 1 Day!  Woo hoo.  Off we went.

From Ireland, Paris and Barcelona ten converged on the South of France.

Don's 90th Birthdsay

Last Sunday, July 24th, 2005 Infoman and I had the pleasure of attending the celebration of 90 years of life.  My stepfather of more than 30 years was honored by a crowd of 70 family and friends from as nearby as up the road to as far as California. 

Photos were placed on tables throughout the room and at various intervals guests stood and talked about Don's life as illustrated by the photos.

My mother arranged a lovely party at Zingerman's Roadhouse, a fantastic restaurant in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Zingerman's offered a select vegetarian menu from which guests could select a first course of soup or salad, second course of mushroom quesadillas or smothered grits.  Followed by delicious carrot cake.
